My wife had a coupon for $2 off a Schick razor and somehow managed to convince me to use it, even though, despite the discount, I could have gotten razors I was satisfied with for less. I had used triple bladed razors in the past, and they hadn’t seemed any better to me than the double bladed razors I bought last time. In fact, they were worse, because the blades were so close together that they clogged easily and were a real pain to clean. The double bladed razors were a bit of a pain to clean too, but not as bad as the triples.
We picked up a pack of Xtreme 3 Comfort Plus. A stroke or two with the new razor was all it took–I was hooked. All three blades are flexible and pivot, giving the most comfortable shave I’ve ever had (how much the experience will degrade as the lubricating strips degrade is yet to be seen). The spacing and angle of the blades and the open head design resist clogging and make it very easy to clean, which means that I can shave a lot faster. And I’m pretty sure I ended up with as close a shave as I’ve ever had.
I never would have thought I’d be advocating a razor here, but this one is good enough that I feel compelled to share my experience with anyone else out there who hasn’t found a razor they’re totally satisfied with yet.
