It's a matter of priorities: Gecko Tribe offers a wide variety of products and services from t-shirts to iMovie plugins to RSS tools to FileMaker Pro plugins to online chess, and yes, a SPAM filter. My list of work priorities has grown quite long, and maintaining SPAMbaffle has taken a back seat to my core business, which is increasingly focused around RSS and soon Atom. As much as I'd love to continue to add features to SPAMbaffle, I've finally reached the conclusion that I'm unlikely to ever have time to work on it in earnest, so I'm putting the codebase and domain name (Google PageRank 6) up for sale.

What might a buyer want to do with SPAMbaffle? Here are a few things I'd live to have time to do with it:

  • Market it. I'm afraid I haven't gotten around to marketing it much, so there's definitely room for improvement there.
  • Integrate it into a larger system.
  • Build a subscription SPAM filtering service.
  • Build a version that runs as a daemon.
  • Adapt it for use with additional mail servers (the current version works with qmail).
  • Add a plug-in architecture.
  • Open source it.

Thanks.
