Yesterday, NPR's Talk of the Nation talked about blogging. Unfortunately, RSS was mentioned only twice: once by a caller, and once by a guest. Neither mention gave much detail, and there was certainly no focus on it--the host asked no questions--and it dropped out of the program as quickly as it had entered. It's nice to see blogging getting more and more attention--that can only spill over into digests, but more direct mainstream media coverage of digests and the value they offer would go a long way toward reaching audiences that haven't yet listened to the message. Mention of technology outside of it's own domain suggests to non-technical people that the technology may be ready for them to use. So, how do we get mainstream media to talk about newsfeeds? I'll have to ruminate on this.
